Roommates for life!

After a beautiful weekend in Atlanta celebrating the marriage of our friends Jason and Steph, last night we were on the couch catching up on Law & Order SVU and Alec exclaims "We get to do this every night! Like have a sleepover! Forever!" Ha why yes, that is one thing that comes with the marriage territory - a permanent sleepover buddy! There's a special bond you build with people you live with for an extended period of time... those relationships are typically reserved for three categories - family, romantic partners and roommates. ROOMMATES! What a special category of people. I am fortunate to have many amazing past roommates in my life - I LOVE YOU ALL! But the wedding this past weekend was my COLLEGE roommates. My UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA KAPPA DELTA sorority sister roommates. We went from bunking together and sharing bathrooms in the sorority house to THE MULLET - a cute, lovely brick family home from the street view, with a gigantic wooden party deck on the back of the house that looked as if it was transported from a frat house on Milledge Avenue... business in the front, party in the back! The Mullet. Steph's wedding this weekend was a big, beautiful reunion. After nearly 2 years of the pandemic and lots of life changes, it was chicken noodle soup for my soul to be back with the roommates, the Mullet girls. The bride, Stephanie, is the person who introduced me to sales as a profession. I followed in her size six footsteps right into the Marketing department at UGA. The pandemic probably did steal some visits we all would have made to NYC, and vacations we would have coordinated, but it was a great feeling to pick right up where we left off and be with people that will be in my life for the rest of my life.

Dear Stephanie:

I sat down to write this and immediately got back up and went to cleanse my face, apply vitamin c serum, more serum and then SPF 50... and now with my baseball cap on I can start typing. Thank you for modeling strict and stringent skin care - your effort has paid off your face is just as fresh as the day I met you over a decade ago. You have always been a model of embodied sophistication, so smart and deliberate. The moment I saw you walk down the aisle I thought wow great silver shoes! and proceeded to watch you walk confidently and comfortably towards your husband and into your marriage. It was a blessing to witness both of your families be so present and overjoyed, watching you become husband and wife. The entire evening was romantic and full a love! And the band was AMAZING! I have to say this was the first Jewish wedding I have attended and wow was that a celebration! The dance floor didn't stop! And neither did your outfit changes! I am so happy I got to dance the night away with you and Jason. The after party at Tiki Tango was just the absolute icing on the cake for this Atlanta girl. I want to state for the record I wore my high heels for 8 hours - the entire night! I'll keep this short and relatively anonymous because, after all this is the public internet. I love you both! I'm so glad you found your soulmate, who will definitely be a very wonderful roommate for life!
